Context

MAAX, a leader in shower panel manufacturing, was operating with aging, overly complex equipment control software. The system wasn't designed to evolve with the company's needs. Worse, critical production data — machine parameters, maintenance histories, product specifications — was centralized in an Excel file managed by a single employee. If that person left, the company would lose access to years of operational knowledge.

The challenge

The software controlling shower panel manufacturing equipment was too complex and couldn't evolve. Critical production data lived in a single Excel file, managed by one employee — a major risk to operational continuity.

Our solution

La 13e Solution developed a scalable, multilingual custom software designed to replace the existing system while simplifying the interface for operators. The new system centralizes all production data in a robust database, accessible across MAAX's three plants.

The centralized database eliminates dependency on the Excel file and a single employee's knowledge. Each plant accesses the same real-time data, with roles and permissions tailored to each user level.

The system was designed with predictive maintenance in mind: IoT sensors collect equipment condition data, enabling failure anticipation and optimal maintenance scheduling.
